Had a good time, except had a run in with a resort Manager and the manager/owner of the place that one of my transfers was arranged by. It has become the same old same old, so are opting not to go to Thailand for a few years. Will be going to Guam and Palau next year for around 3 or 4 weeks. Year after that maybe Chuk and/or Phonpei for around the same period of time. It will be interesting snorkelling around the downed Japanese and American planes and sunken warships. Something different anyway.

Not just a he ... there was also a she ... SAFFY
The transfer people put us onto the wrong ferry, which tied up at the wrong pier. The resort manager refused poin blank to refuse to send someone around to collect us because it was the wrong pier. Then there was hassles trying to get out of the resort because of the same thing. Now I'm having trouble with my travel agent in regards to a refund of the transfer that I had paid twice (here and then in Thailand) and reimbursement for the telephone calls that I made to them while in Thailand to try and fix the problem. After using the same travel agent for 12 years I don't think I will be using them again.

Took a few, not many. Prettty hard to get different photos from a place you have been to so many times (12) as we have.
Will next year though ... going to either Guam/Palau in Micronesia or the Cook Islands. We're giving Thailand a wide berth for a few years.

WOW! Those places should be neat. Never been to any of them. Good to change vacation destinations too. More to post on CTP about. Those are all islands and the
Islands forum needs posts like all get out.

I think if I'd been there that long, I would be leaving the camera behind as well, actually. Mind you, since I go mostly tramping, and my present camera is
sooo heavy now, I think really carefully about trips I will take it on. But of course, when you leave it behind - that's when you discover that magic shot
you want to take.
One day, I might just plan one of those lazy holidays on the beach somewhere..... have never had one of those. But - have had days like that beside a river, so that's probably just about as good. Of all the things that I have lost, it's my mind that I miss the most.

LL ... just waiting for prices to come in. So far the Cook Islands are looking good. I don't know what it is, but
the Guam/Palau trip seems to hard for travel agents here to organise.
SAFFY ... never left the camera behind, just didn't take too many photos. We did take a few and will have to get
some downloaded from the camera and select the best to exhibit here and elsewhere.
