So how does my computer know we had the extension?

Okay... we have just turned off daylight saving and gone back to normal time. Since I've had a computer, it has always reverted itself corrected with the
new daylight time.
This year in NZ, daylight saving was extended another 3 weeks as an experiment. Again my computer has faithfully turned itself back to the correct time, at the correct time. So how does my computer know we had the extension? Of all the things that I have lost, it's my mind that I miss the most.

Each time we change times here my computer does it right, too. Not sure how it knows but Microsoft usually comes out with something to let machines know when
to change times. Someone more techie than I can explain this better Saffy.
Now if I can get this stupid signature to show. Maybe I'll have to write the Help desk agian. LibraryLady11 (LL) |

Well, we must be hooked up in the system to some Big Brother system for it to know that.

We've only just changed back to normal time from daylight savings as well.
Our Premier decided to extend dayl;ight savings for one week about 2 weeks before it was due to change back, but there were a lot of people thta hadn't realised it until they turned up for work an hour early. Go figure!

It's a term that we use sometimes when someone does something a big brainless/blonde type of thing. Actually the origins of it as a name are not really
nice, and I prefer not to think of it that way but - you know when somebody has had the severe misfortune to become so ill that they are only alive with the
help of modern medicine ... they are like a "vegetable", hence - cabbage.

Well, throw a hissy fit if you like, but it will be wasted
The cabbage
reference was for the important person who made the announcement only two weeks before the event. Now that's a cabbage thought.
Oh, also on cabbages... the students here sometimes use that word when relating to subjects when they have a softer option. Eg English and Maths - two subjects that sometimes just don't suit some personalities. So they have the option of having a lighter version of lessons available (not the same credits of course). So they are sometimes referred to as cabbage maths and cabbage english. But for some people, that's all they need for what they're going to do. I'd pick the cabbage maths for sure I think that would
suit me... never ever enjoyed maths.

Looks like both MS and Mac have automated updates that change the time for each zone. It'd be in your automated updates. And I am not a Cabbage.
