We camped here early in January. Took us about two days walking to get here, with a very hard uphill workout for half a day, and then out in the open sun. Phew, but it was beautiful there.

This one I detoured on impulse to Mt Somers, when I was driving back from Timaru to Christchurch - took the long way home. It was an overcast day - perfect
for taking bush photos (no shadows) Stavely waterfall:
Lake Matiri - this was taken from the hut where we spent New Year's Eve. Same neighbourhood as the first photo. Same tramp.
